This Ballet I/II class offers challenges for both levels, incorporating pliés and grand battements within the Ballet barre sequence. Additionally, weekly practice of pirouettes and pique turns, along with petite and grand allegro jumps, enhances technical skills. Pre-pointe is included at this level.
Pre-pointe is the foundational class that you take prior to attending pointe. In this class, you will strengthen your feet and work on proper technique to avoid injury once on Pointe. In a pre-pointe class, dancers wear demi pointe shoes (de-shanked pointe shoes) to prepare for future work on pointe. Required training is a minimum of one to two years prior to enrolling in a pre-pointe class.
Pointe is designed for the more experienced dancer with at least 3-4 years of technical training. Instructors will determine when a student is ready to graduate from pre-pointe to pointe.
